Deep blues, mineral tones and flashes of warm colour move through the series. What began with impressions of rocky Mediterranean shores and the world below the water gradually became less about describing a place and more about what remained — colour, movement, rhythm and form.

As the series developed, the coastline became less a subject and more a point of departure.

As the work moved further into abstraction, a shift in materials opened up a more playful and intuitive way of working. Fluid acrylics, acrylic ink and oil pastel allowed colour, gesture and texture to take a more prominent role.

What began as a response to a place gradually became a response to memory itself. The sea, rocks and Mediterranean light remain, but no longer as fixed images. They return as fragments of colour, movement and rhythm — shaped as much by what is remembered as by what was once seen.
