The Rhythm the Sea Left Behind (2026)
Acrylic, fluid acrylics and oil pastel on canvas, 80 × 80 × 1.7 cm

The movement of the sea continues to resonate long after the moment itself has passed. Sweeping blues, warm earthy tones and playful gestures move across the surface like echoes of waves, rocks and shifting water held in memory.

Layered brushstrokes, fluid marks and open passages create a sense of rhythm and movement, allowing the composition to feel both energetic and free.

I worked on this painting intuitively, letting one gesture lead into another and allowing the movement across the canvas to become part of the painting itself.

Inspired by memories of the Mediterranean coast, the work explores how the movement of the sea and its surroundings can continue to echo in memory — returning through colour, rhythm and a sense of play.
