After a Fading Sun (2026)
Acrylic ink and acrylic fluids on canvas, 60 × 60 × 1.7 cm
Warm sand, ochre and muted terracotta move through the painting, held together by deep brown and black gestural marks.
Layered brushstrokes, stains and open areas create a sense of movement that feels both grounded and spontaneous.
I worked on this painting intuitively, allowing the fluid ink and paint to spread, overlap and guide the next marks as the composition developed.
Rooted in memories of Mediterranean light, rock and sun-warmed earth, the work moves beyond a specific place and into a more instinctive abstraction.
