A Mediterranean Moment Lingers (2026)
Acrylic, fluid acrylics and oil pastel on canvas, 60 × 60 × 1.7 cm
Holding onto the feeling of a place after the moment itself has passed, sweeping blues, warm terracotta and fragmented marks move across the surface like traces of water, sun and stone remembered rather than observed.
Layered brushstrokes, fluid gestures and shifting areas of colour create a sense of movement, while quieter passages allow the composition to open and breathe.
I worked on this painting intuitively, allowing colour, gesture and texture to guide the composition as it developed.
Inspired by Mediterranean light, water and sun-warmed stone, the work explores how the feeling of a place can linger in memory — fragmented, shifting and gradually transformed through abstraction.
